PhD Agrobiosciences


Call for applications 2018

The Ph.D. Programme in “Agrobiosciences” is a three-year program characterized by an interdisciplinary connotation and designed for highly qualified and motivated students who wish to either undertake a scientific carreer in public or private research institutions or apply with companies that exploit green biotechnologies and cutting-edge agronomical practices.

The Ph.D. Programme in “Agrobiosciences” consists in the following curricula:

  • Genomics and Crop Science (Plant Physiology and Genetics)
  • Agriculture, Environment and Landscape

Candidates whose curriculum and project proposal will be evaluated positively, will be invited for an oral interview in the main building of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Piazza Martiri della Libertà 33) on June 15, 2018.

The PhD programme will start on October 1, 2018

If you are not an Italian resident and wish to take part in the competitive exam, you must already have, or achieve by October 31, a MSc's degree that has been declared as being equivalent by the Italian authorities or recognized as being equivalent in terms of duration and content to the Italian degree. 

It is highly recommended that the project proposal pertains to one of the research lines already active in our lab and especially:

  • molecular mechanisms regulating crop responses and adaptation to submergence
  • adaptation of plant development to environmental cues
  • evolution of stress signal transduction in plants
  • synthetic engineering of molecular light responses in plants
